Gurugram: BML Munjal University (BMU) successfully conducted a one-day Library Technology Workshop on Bibliometric Software and Smart Library Systems on June 20, 2025, at its Kapriwas campus. The event brought together library and academic professionals from across the Delhi-NCR region.
The workshop focused on enhancing awareness and application of emerging library technologies, including bibliometric analysis tools (MetaInfoSci) and library cabin booking systems.
The inaugural session was led by Dr. Suneet Soni, Registrar of BMU, with a keynote address by Prof. K.P. Singh from the University of Delhi, who shared insights into the evolution of library tech.
A special address on ICT applications in libraries was delivered by Dr. Vinay Kumar Kainthola of NIIT University.
Dr. Kiran Sharma and Dr. Zia Uddin from BMU’s School of Engineering & Technology conducted a live demo of MetaInfoSci, while Yuvraj Arora led a session on Smart Library Spaces and cabin booking software. The day concluded with an interactive experience-sharing session by librarians from the region.
Participants praised the workshop for its practical relevance and technical depth, marking it as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange in the field of Library and Information Science.
