Bokaro Shines with Talented Swimmers for State Championship in Jamshedpur

 

23 Young Swimmers to Represent Bokaro in State Championship 2025

Bokaro: A 23-member strong swimming contingent has been selected to represent Bokaro district at the 15th Junior and Sub-Junior Jharkhand State Swimming Championship, scheduled to be held on July 12–13, 2025, at the JRD Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.

The selection trials were conducted on Sunday at the swimming pool of Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro, under the aegis of the Bokaro District Swimming Association. The event witnessed an energetic turnout of around 55 young swimmers from various schools and institutions across the district. The trials kicked off early at 7:00 AM, where participants competed fiercely across different swimming categories and strokes.

Following a thorough assessment of performances, 23 swimmers were shortlisted for the state-level championship, which is being organized by the East Singhbhum District Swimming Association under the banner of the Jharkhand Swimming Association.

Dr. A. S. Gangwar, President of the Bokaro District Swimming Association and Principal of DPS Bokaro, officially announced the team lineup.

Selected Swimmers:

  • Junior Boys: Ankit Basu, Pragyan Kumar, Arnav Sharan, Aarav Kumar, Samyak Shivank

  • Sub-Junior Boys: Yuvraj Singh, Dhruv Jyoti Choudhary, Atulya Prakash, Darsh Prasad, Lalith Lukesh, Apoorva Singh, Punan Purhan, Darshil Raj, Aviyank Mandal

  • Junior Girls: Gurleen, Aditri Chauhan, Faiza Faruqui, Jyotika Choudhury

  • Sub-Junior Girls: Mariam Hussain, Arunima, Aadya Prisha, Aanshika, Ishanvi Arya

The selected athletes will now gear up to compete with top swimmers from across the state, showcasing Bokaro’s growing talent in aquatic sports.
