Ranchi: The agitation over alleged irregularities in Jharkhand government recruitment examinations gained fresh political momentum after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) threw its weight behind protesting aspirants, backing their demands for transparency and an independent probe into alleged lapses involving the JPSC and JSSC.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who was recently associated with protests in Delhi over the NEET paper-leak controversy, interacted with protesting students before announcing his support.
“Spoke to the students who are protesting in Jharkhand over irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment exams. The CJP stands with all the students in Jharkhand and supports their demands,” Dipke said in a post on X.

The agitation, which gathered momentum in Ranchi in late July, has been driven by aspirants alleging question-paper leaks, corruption, manipulation and lack of transparency in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
At the centre of the latest controversy is the 14th JPSC Combined Preliminary Examination, with protesters demanding its cancellation and a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding JPSC and JSSC recruitment exercises.

The aspirants are also seeking time-bound and transparent recruitment, greater accountability and structural reforms in the state’s examination and selection mechanism.
The movement has witnessed demonstrations, marches and sit-ins, with protesters arguing that repeated recruitment controversies are putting the careers of thousands of government job aspirants at stake.
Political pressure over the issue is also mounting. The BJP has backed the demand for a CBI probe, while the CJP’s support has added another political voice to the agitation.
With aspirants refusing to relent, the recruitment row is increasingly turning into a wider political issue, putting pressure on the Jharkhand government to address allegations surrounding the credibility and transparency of the state’s recruitment system.
