80th Independence Day: DVC Chandrapura (CTPS) Showcases Patriotism, Power and Community Welfare
Bokaro: The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) is playing a pivotal role in India’s development and power generation while contributing significantly to the welfare of communities in its operational areas, said Ramkumar Anubhavi, Chief General Manager and Project Head of DVC’s Chandrapura Thermal Power Station (CTPS).
Anubhavi was addressing the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the CTPS football ground, where he unfurled the National Flag and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs whose sacrifices secured India’s independence.
Calling for unity and collective responsibility, he urged employees and citizens to contribute towards the nation’s security, progress and development.
Highlighting DVC’s wider role, Anubhavi said the corporation’s responsibilities extend beyond power generation. Through various initiatives, DVC is contributing to education, healthcare, roads, sports, skill development, safety, agriculture and community welfare, with the objective of improving the quality of life in its areas of operation.
CTPS Among Top Performers
Anubhavi also praised the operational performance of Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, noting that the plant has repeatedly ranked among the country’s better-performing power stations in terms of Plant Load Factor (PLF).
He credited the achievement to the dedication, efficiency and coordinated efforts of the officers, employees and entire workforce of the power station.
Colourful Parade and Cultural Programme
The Independence Day celebrations featured a vibrant cultural programme presented by students from several schools. CISF personnel and students participated in a ceremonial parade, adding to the patriotic atmosphere.
The fire department presented a striking display with water jets, recreating the colours of the Tricolour and drawing appreciation from the gathering.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at various DVC establishments in Chandrapura. Senior General Manager (O&M) Rajesh Kumar hoisted the National Flag at Srijan Park, while Deputy General Manager Neeraj Sinha performed the ceremony at Ambedkar Bhawan. Amit Kumar hoisted the Tricolour at Nau-Lakkha Bhawan, and Anushuman Ashutosh B. Ekka unfurled the National Flag at the Guest House.
Principals also hoisted the Tricolour at their respective schools, while officers conducted Independence Day ceremonies at various DVC offices.
A large number of DVC officers, employees, students and CISF personnel attended the celebrations. Among those present were Anuradha Kumari, Rajiv Kumar, Neeraj Sinha, Mohammad Imtiaz, Rajkumar Chaudhary, Sudhanshu Ranjan, Abhimanyu Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Satyendra Kumar, Payal Bohra, Ajay Kumar, Akshay Kumar, Surya Dalai, Umesh Kumar Sharma, Pradeep Srivastava, Jayanto Sarkar, Amarendra Singh, Gaurishankar Rai, Rajiv Kumar Mahto, Subodh Mandal, Aman Topno, Sanjeev Kumar, Ramkumar Dubey, Laxman Prasad, Vipad Manjhi, Md. Imam, Rakesh Srivastava, Nishi Priya, Reena Kumari, Dr P.K. Ghosh, Amulya Singh Sardar, Abhinandan Kumar and Manish Kumar, among others.
Senior CISF officials, including Deputy Commandants Behrul Islam Laskar, Kailash Yadav and Puneet Rathi, along with Archana, Gautam Rai, Sudhir Kumar, Yashwant Singh and other personnel, were also present.
