‘Dol festival’ celebrated with traditional fanfare & merriment

Dhanbad: “Dol festival” (Bengali festival of Holi) was celebrated with great pomp and show at Dhanbad on Friday. In Bengal, Odisha, and Assam, Holi is celebrated as Dol Purnima or Dol Jatra, a prominent Bengali festival.

The festival was organized by Chandan Studio at Sarovar Park in the Bakerband area, in which Plash Flower Dance was organized.

Over hundreds of people from Bangali families includes newly born to late eighty throngs inside the park for celebrations, enthusiastically participated in many events. Dressed-up in the yellow coloured sari, women were seen playing Holi with Palash, Marigold flowers ​​, and Gulal.

Children of the prestigious dance school of Dhanbad, Sompa Mukherjee Dance Group- Hirapur Durga Temple, Parul Dance Academy -Hari Mandir, Sadhana Dance Arts Center Hirapur, Saswati Dance Academy-Jharia actively participated in the events.

The purpose of organizing the event is to preserve the ancient, traditional cultural festival (of Bengal) and expand it outside of West Bengal as well.

Chandan Studio also shot the video of the event with the latest mirror-less camera, full-frame camera, drone camera, 4K camera; gimbal and slider were also used during shooting. The video of this Dol festival from Dhanbad in the format of Shantiniketan will be released globally on YouTube and Facebook page of Chandan Studio Dhanbad on Holi.

Former Dhanbad Mayor Chandrashekhar Aggarwal and his wife Veena Aggarwal were present as the chief guest on occasion, were welcomed by Palash flower dance; they enthusiastically participated in the event and enjoyed very much. A lucky draw was also organized among the members participating in the event, with 11 contestants participating in the draw being honored on behalf of the chief guest.

To make the event a success, Program Coordinators Aarti Pal, Sanjay Sengupta, Nupur, Santosh Seal, Gaurav Modak, Pompa Pal, Deepa Modak, Chandan Studio’s production team includes Rajkumar Singh, Brijendra Pandey, Rohit Gupta, Subhojit Ghoshal, Devashish, among others played an active role in making the event successful.
