Tamil Nadu CM launches free COVID-19 vaccination at private hospitals

Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister MK Stalin introduces a first-of-its-kind initiative in India to distribute free COVID-19 immunisation shots at private hospitals in the state. The scheme was launched at Chennai’s Kauvery Hospital by the Chief Minister.

Free Covid-19 vaccine scheme to all at private hospitals in Tamilnadu, will be funded under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by the private hospitals, informed an official.

During the event, the chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Tamil Nadu chapter, S. Chandrakumar, handed over a cheque for Rs 2.20 crore from CSR funds towards the free vaccination drive to CM Stalin.

Managing director of Adyar Ananda Bhavan, K.T. Srinivasa Raja, also handed over a cheque for Rs 7 lakh towards the noble cause.
