IAF to get 70 HTT- 40 Basic Trainer Aircrafts from HAL

RNS: Purchase of 70 HTT-40 Basic Training Aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force at a cost of more than 6,000 828 crore rupees has been authorised by the government.

The delivery of the aircraft will take place over a six-year period.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the aircraft will help the IAF make up for a lack of basic training aircraft for the induction of new pilots.

According to the Ministry, the HTT-40 is a turboprop aircraft with strong low-speed handling characteristics that enhance training efficiency.

The procurement is expected to provide direct employment to one thousand 500 personnel and indirect employment for up to three thousand people spread over more than 100 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, official sources said.

According to our sources, the purchase of the HTT-40 is a boon for the Indian Aerospace Defence ecosystem and will help speed up the progress towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
