Vedanta-ESL celebrates Graduation of Solar PV installers

Bokaro: In a commendable display of commitment to community development and skill enhancement, ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group Company, was lauded during a felicitation ceremony held today.

The event celebrated the successful completion of Solar PV Installer Trade training by a group of 30 students hailing from ESL Steel Limited’s operational villages in Chandankiyari and Chas blocks.

The felicitation ceremony, graced by the presence of Suman S Sahu, DGM RO Ranchi of NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), saw these 30 students being recognized for their accomplishments. Notably, all of them have secured placements with Premier Energies, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector based in Hyderabad.

Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Deputy Head of CSR ESL Steel Limited, expressed his pride in Vedanta’s unwavering commitment to investing in the skill development of young talent residing in the operational villages.

He emphasized that this initiative is not just a commitment but a strategic imperative. Through the Vedanta ESL Skill Development Project, the company is shaping brighter futures and empowering communities for sustained growth and progress.

Vedanta ESL Skill School, a part of ESL Steel Limited’s CSR initiatives and run in partnership with SEEDS, provided an intensive six-week training program in Solar PV Installers Trade to these 30 candidates. This initiative has been highly successful, with Vedanta ESL Skill School having trained over 400 students to date, with 323 of them securing recruitment placements.

Vedanta ESL Skill School focuses on providing sustainable employment opportunities to youth, offering NSDC Certified courses that ensure industry-standard training. Additionally, the project guarantees placements for a minimum of 70% of trained candidates, with placements in companies such as Blue Jersey Garments, Adani Power, Premier Energies, and more, offering competitive packages ranging between 1.2 to 1.8 Lakhs per annum.

Notably, SEEDS (Social Empowerment and Economic Development Society), established in 2008, plays a pivotal role in this initiative by engineering transformational change in the lives of individuals in the middle and lower economic strata. They provide customized solutions in education and economic development to communities who otherwise lack access to such support, all while aligning with principles of people, planet, and prosperity. SEEDS leverages technology and knowledge to drive innovation and promote nature-positive policies.
