Ranchi: The Indian Air Force is set to host an aerial display on April 19 and 20 at the Army Ground under Namkum Police Station, with the show scheduled between 9:45 AM and 10:45 AM on both days. In view of the event and associated security measures, the Ranchi district administration has imposed a No-Fly Zone around the venue.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar), Ranchi has issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
The order restricts the use of drones, paragliders, hot air balloons, and any similar aerial activities within a 200-meter radius of the Army Ground.
The no-fly restrictions will remain in force from 6:00 AM on April 17 to 11:00 PM on April 20, as a security precaution ahead of and during the high-profile air show.
Authorities have clarified that these restrictions do not apply to the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team’s official equipment, which will be part of the Indian Air Force’s performance.
The air show is expected to draw significant public interest, and residents have been urged to cooperate with the guidelines to ensure a safe and smooth event.
